About Earworx

Founded by Lisa Hellege in 2016, Earworx was created in order to provide safe and reliable relief to those suffering from excess or impacted ear wax. Utilising the micro-suction technique, Earworx’s clinics across the country work every day to offer an effective ear wax clearing service. The micro-suction technique is regarded by Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Specialists to be the best procedure for the removal of ear wax and our registered nurses are highly trained in this specialised technique, ensuring comfortable and risk free ear wax cleaning for all.

When you make a visit to our Woolloongabba clinic, our nurse’s Sandy and Juleevy will first guide you through the micro-suction process and then perform an examination and assessment of your current ear wax build up. Using special glasses known as loupes, the nurse will be able to view your entire ear canal and gain a thorough understanding of the type of treatment you may require. Our Registered Nurses are experts in ear wax and if the nurse determines that you require a micro-suction removal, they will proceed as needed.

After the assessment, if the nurse has determined that a thorough clean using the micro-suction devices is not needed due to a lack of excess ear wax, a discount will be offered on the overall service. You do not need a referral from a doctor to book an appointment with an Earworx nurse.

Do You Need Ear Wax Removal or Cleaning?

Symptoms of excess ear wax can vary in severity, and at times be very uncomfortable and painful. Common symptoms of excess ear wax can include a feeling of ‘blocked’ or fullness in the ear, ringing in the ears, difficulty hearing, dizziness and even pain inside the ear.

Depending on your genetics or ear shape, you may also be at risk of impacted ear wax. Hardened ear wax deep within the canal can be tricky to remove and may lead to more problems such as infections.

It’s best to leave the cleaning to the experts. Using cotton buds or fingers to clean your ears is not an effective way to remove wax and often may exacerbate the problem by pushing the ear wax further and may cause long term damage. Ensure you treat your ears with care and only attempt to remove wax by visiting a professional removal clinic.

Think you might be experiencing excess ear wax? Book an appointment at our recently reopened Woolloongabba clinic today for pain free and professional removal!
