Professional Earwax Removal in Mackay
Are you experiencing uncomfortable symptoms from excess earwax like blockage, itching, or dizziness? Our specially trained nurses at our new Mackay Clinic ensure safe ear health and wax removal using the micro-suction technique for earwax extraction, which is the preferred method of Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists.
When you visit Earworx Mackay, our nurses first conduct a thorough examination to assess the extent of your earwax blockage. Through gentle micro-suction technology, earwax is delicately suctioned out without contacting the canal wall or eardrum. This safe, pain-free technique is appropriate for individuals of any age, including those with underlying health issues like ear infections or compromised immune systems.
At Earworx Clinics, you can seek treatment without the necessity of a referral.

How the Earworx Procedure Works
Excessive earwax can lead to discomfort, such as a blocked sensation, itchiness, dizziness, and even hearing loss or ear ringing, despite the essential role of normal earwax for ear health.
At Earworx clinics, our nurses specialise in safe ear health and wax removal, emphasising safety and maintaining direct vision using ‘loupes’ – magnifying lights. Our procedure offers fast and effective relief from impacted earwax symptoms.
During your visit, our nurse will assess your earwax blockage before utilising micro-suction and curettage to gently remove excess wax. This technology functions like a small vacuum, extracting earwax without contacting the ear canal or eardrum.
Though you may hear the suction noise, the process is gentle and swift, especially when the wax is pre-softened (recommendations include plain olive oil or ‘Ear Clear’ from the chemist).
For additional in-depth information about our micro-suction procedure, you can read more about ear cleaning on our website.
Why You Might Need Ear Wax Removal
Although earwax production is normal and essential for ear health, experiencing discomfort like blockage, itching, fullness, or hearing loss could indicate an excess of earwax. While the ear usually self-cleans, factors such as cold water activities, wearing earphones, using cotton buds, or genetic predisposition can lead to excess or impacted earwax.
When the self-cleaning mechanism fails, seeking professional help is crucial. If you find yourself susceptible to these issues, you are welcome to seek our advice. Our specialised care can provide relief and prevent potential complications arising from excess or impacted earwax. Don’t let uncomfortable ear symptoms affect your wellbeing – reach out to Earworx Mackay today for expert assistance.
